What changed in October
October had three dated changes. On 2026-10-10, the sitemap stopped including directory entries. It now lists reviewed pages only, so thin listing pages are not offered for indexing. Directory cards began saying "Listed" rather than implying a review. On 2026-10-12, we corrected copy on the About page, the methodology page, the author bio, the homepage FAQ, and the resource and category subtitles. Those pages now describe the catalog in two tiers. On 2026-10-15, we refreshed the model names in the model-selection article and in the tutorials to the current generation, and added an explicit checked-on date (2026-10-15) to the cost tables. There was no August entry; this post covers October only, and it is not a promise of a monthly schedule.
How the directory is labelled now
A reviewed page is one the editorial team has checked. It can carry a rating, pros and cons, an FAQ, and an update date. A directory listing is a record that a product or resource exists; it is not a review. Directory detail pages are marked noindex and show the date the entry was listed, not a review date. Cards use the "Listed" and "Directory" labels. The distinction matters because a large directory and a reviewed catalog are different products. Treating every entry as reviewed would overstate the work and mislead readers. The labels make the boundary visible before a click.
What we verified
We checked that the sitemap includes reviewed resource pages and excludes directory slugs; that directory detail pages return noindex; that directory cards show "Listed"; and that reviewed pages still show an update date. We read the seven locale versions of the affected copy so the same distinction appears in each language. We also checked the model names and the cost-table date against the revised article and tutorials. We did not measure search rankings, traffic, AI citations, or how many people use the site. Those numbers are not part of this report.
What we did not change
We did not re-review the directory. We did not rewrite the directory descriptions, and we did not turn listed dates into review dates. We did not change the editorial standard, and we added no new pricing claims, user counts, or test results. This update is about indexing and wording, not a new review round. If a page says Review, it has been checked by the editorial team. If it says Directory or Listed, it has not. That rule now applies across the site and in every supported language.
